1.  How do I make an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by calling my office at the Changeways clinic, 604-871-0490, or emailing the Changeways Clinic at  clientservices@changeways.com.  You do not need to have a referral from a physician.

 2. What is the fee for treatment?

Please call or email for the current fees per session. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, debit, or credit card.

 3. Can I use my extended health Benefits for psychological services?

Many, but not all, extended health benefit plans (e.g., Blue Cross) cover all or some part of the services provided by Registered Psychologists.  There is a large difference, however, between plans and clients are strongly encouraged to contact their health benefit provider for more information.

 4. Are services covered by the provincial Medical Services Plan (MSP)?

At this time, MSP does not cover these services.

 5. How often are appointments?

At the beginning of treatment, appointments are usually every week or every second week for 50 minute sessions. However I will always tailor the frequency of your appointments to your individual needs.

 6. What happens if I have to miss an appointment?

I am happy to reschedule your appointment to a more convenient time. Twenty four hour notice is needed so that other clients can be booked in during the time made available. Missed sessions without adequate notice will be charged at the regular rate.

 7. How long does treatment last?

The length of treatment varies a great deal and depends on many different factors, such as how severe the symptoms are, the number and types of problem areas, and how engaged the client is in therapy. Research suggests that many people are able to see significant improvements in 10 to 12 sessions, with some clients needing fewer and some requiring more for similar results.

8. What can I expect during my first appointment?

The first appointment is mainly devoted to learning as much as possible about you and what you want to work on.   During this appointment, I will try to give you an overview about how I think I might be able to help and give you an opportunity to ask any questions you might have about myself and the therapy process. This first appointment is important because it allows us to make sure I am a good match for what you need and that I am someone with whom you feel comfortable.
